Metal self-locking nuts are fasteners that achieve anti-loosening through the deformation of the threads. Their working principle is to prevent loosening by utilizing the friction force of the thread pair and the deformation characteristics of the metal material.
Structural Characteristics
Metal self-locking nuts typically feature high-precision thread designs. During the tightening process, the deformation of the thread bottom hole or the change in the tooth profile creates an interference fit, enhancing the friction force. This structure does not require additional components and is suitable for complex environments such as high temperatures, acid and alkali corrosion.
Locking principle
When the nut is tightened, the metal material undergoes elastic deformation, forming a tight contact. Under vibration or external force, the frictional resistance generated by the material's restoring force prevents the bolt from separating from the nut. This locking method has high requirements for dimensional accuracy and is suitable for static or low-vibration scenarios.
Application scenario
