
A resin capsule, also known as a resin anchoring cartridge, is a dual-component chemical anchoring material specially designed for rock bolt fixing and geotechnical support projects. It adopts a sealed double-chamber structure, with unsaturated polyester resin and curing agent stored separately inside a durable polyester film shell. During installation, high-speed rotation and extrusion break the capsule film, fully mixing the two components to trigger a rapid chemical reaction. The material quickly cures from a viscous paste into a high-strength, solid bonding layer, realizing firm integration between rock bolts, anchor rods and surrounding rock or concrete structures.
As a core consumable for underground mining, tunnel engineering and slope reinforcement, resin capsules feature fast curing speed, high bonding strength, zero shrinkage and excellent corrosion resistance. They have become the most reliable and cost-effective anchoring solution for global mining and construction projects, especially widely used in African and Middle Eastern mine support projects.
Main Types of Resin Capsules (By Curing Speed)
To adapt to different engineering scenarios and construction efficiency requirements, resin capsules are divided into three mainstream types, covering all mining and civil engineering needs:
Fast-set Resin Capsule
Curing time ranges from 30 to 60 seconds, with instant load-bearing capacity after curing. It is mainly used for rapid support of dangerous rock masses, temporary roadway reinforcement and emergency engineering rescue, effectively improving construction safety efficiency.
Medium-set Resin Capsule
The most versatile mainstream type with a curing time of 1–3 minutes. It balances construction operability and anchoring strength, suitable for most conventional mine roadways, tunnel basic support and general slope anchoring projects.
Slow-set Resin Capsule
Curing time is 3–8 minutes, which allows sufficient construction adjustment time. It is mostly matched with fast-set capsules for full-length anchoring of deep holes, and applicable to large-scale foundation reinforcement and deep rock mass support projects.
