Carbon steel fasteners

Carbon steel fasteners are mechanical connection components made mainly from carbon steel. They are widely used in scenarios such as thin plates and sheet metal parts, featuring low cost, moderate strength, and ease of processing. Here is a detailed introduction:

Materials and Processes

Material: Mainly carbon steel (such as malleable iron), and some models use stainless steel (such as the CLS series).

Process: Through cold heading, the surface is mostly treated with anti-corrosion methods such as galvanization and nickel plating.

Product type

Carbon steel cold-die pressed rivet nuts: Specifically designed for thin plates or sheet metal parts. Common models include S, CLS, and SP series, with specifications ranging from M2 to M12.

Fasteners: Some carbon steel fasteners are used for general mechanical connections, but it is important to note their rust prevention properties.

Application scenario

Field: Enclosures, cabinets, electronic equipment, sheet metal processing, etc. Suitable for 0.8 - 1.5mm low-carbon steel or stainless steel sheets.

Installation requirements: The hole diameter tolerance needs to be precisely controlled (0 - +0.075mm), and it is usually installed using a press riveting equipment.

Advantages and Limitations

Advantages: Low cost, good processing performance, suitable for mass production.

Limitation: Poor rust resistance; requires regular maintenance or electroplating treatment.
